As of the date of this order, by my authority as commanding officer, HMS Musashi, I hereby authorize awards recognizing actions taken at the MADACC Walk, Run, Wag walk on July 13, 2019.
We braved a very hot day in order to support the Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission's mission - to provide animal regulation and care services which protect the health, public safety and welfare of people and animals in Milwaukee County. Many of us are animal lovers who have adopted shelter animals, so this is a mission near to our hearts.
We chose to support MADACC this year in honor of ship's dog, Mort, who was adopted by Musashi's bosun, Port, from MADACC many years ago. Unfortunately, it later became a memorial for Mort, as he passed on this spring. We miss him.
For financially supporting MADACC (including fundraising) and physically participating in the walk, the Navy Achievement Medal is awarded to:
